Artist's Comments

The original Hogg's Hollow Bridge, was part of the Yonge Street/Highway 11 bypass which was built in 1929. When The MacDonald-Cartier Freeway was built in the mid-twentieth Century it was integrated into that highway making it the oldest freeway bridge in Ontario, beating out some of the bridges on the QEW by almost a decade.

The bridge now serves as the Eastbound Express lanes.
